My Husband Kept Taking Our Kids to Visit Grandma
A Suspicious Saturday Tradition
When my husband, Mike, started taking our kids, Ava, 7, and Ben, 5, to visit his mother, Diane, every Saturday, I didn’t think twice. Mike was a devoted father and thoughtful son, helping Diane after her husband’s passing. Diane adored the kids, often baking or gardening with them.
But over time, things felt off. Diane stopped mentioning their visits, and when I asked about them, she’d quickly change the subject. Mike insisted I stay home, calling it “bonding time” and urging me to relax. His avoidance and Diane’s hesitation left me uneasy—and I couldn’t ignore the growing suspicion something wasn’t right.
