In that segment, Doug refuses to shake hands with Darnell Hayes, a role played by Kenan Thompson, embodying a stereotype that resonated with some viewers while offending others. The performance quickly divided opinion, with many Republicans taking to the social media platform X to criticize Hanks for what they saw as an insensitive portrayal.
