Trump had previously attempted to lower drug prices during his first term, but his 2020 executive orders were blocked in court. Recently, he proposed tariffs on pharmaceuticals to incentivize companies to relocate production to the U.S. The new order seeks to address long-standing disparities, promising fairness and significant healthcare savings for Americans.
