Elon Musk blasts Trump’s ‘big beautiful bill’ in scathing new statement just days after leaving White House role

Elon Musk has publicly criticized Trump’s “big beautiful bill” shortly after leaving his role leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The legislation, which passed by a narrow margin, includes temporary tax cuts and increased military funding but also slashes social programs like Medicaid and food stamps. Musk called the bill an “abomination” on X, accusing Congress of worsening the deficit and “betraying the American people.”

Reports suggest Musk’s frustration stems from the removal of EV tax credits—which benefited Tesla—and his inability to extend his DOGE role beyond 130 days. Additionally, Trump sidelined Musk’s ally Jared Isaacman at NASA, possibly due to past Democratic donations. Despite previously supporting Trump, Musk has grown increasingly critical, calling the bill fiscally irresponsible. The White House dismissed his remarks, stating Trump was already aware of Musk’s stance.
