Michelle Obama has direct response to Barack divorce rumors and reveals why they’re rarely seen together

Michelle Obama has grown tired of addressing persistent rumors about her marriage to Barack Obama. The former First Lady recently dismissed speculation about their relationship during an appearance on NPR’s *Wild Card* podcast.

Michelle pointed out how absurd it is that people assume marital problems simply because they don’t publicly document their private lives. “The fact that people don’t see me going out on a date with my husband sparks rumors of the end of our marriage,” she said.

The 61-year-old emphasized that she and Barack, both in their 60s, aren’t interested in social media oversharing. “We don’t Instagram every minute of our lives,” she stated, adding that Barack jokes about her never taking pictures of their activities.

This isn’t the first time Michelle has addressed the rumors. Previously, she told Steven Bartlett that “everyone would know” if they were separating and suggested critics struggle to accept her independence.

The Obamas met in 1988 at a Chicago law firm, married in 1992, and have two daughters. While Barack has acknowledged the strain his presidency placed on their marriage, Michelle maintains their bond remains strong.

She attributes much of the speculation to public fascination with their lives post-White House. “It’s the apocalypse!” she joked about how people react to their normal, private behavior as retirees.

Michelle’s comments highlight the challenges of maintaining privacy in the spotlight – and her determination to live life on her own terms, regardless of rumors.
