Donald Trump made savage dig at Meghan Markle when asked if he’d deport Prince Harry

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to the U.S., where Donald Trump has recently intensified deportation efforts. Protests have erupted against ICE’s harsh tactics, including a reporter being hit with a rubber bullet. However, Harry and Meghan need not fear deportation, despite Trump’s past criticism of Meghan.

Earlier this year, Trump stated he wouldn’t deport Prince Harry, despite concerns raised by the Heritage Foundation. The thinktank questioned Harry’s visa eligibility after he admitted to past drug use in his memoir, *Spare*, including cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelics.

Trump dismissed the idea of deporting Harry, saying, *“I don’t want to do that.”* He added, *“I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”* This follows Trump’s past remarks calling Meghan “nasty,” though he later claimed he was misquoted.

Trump also praised Prince William, Harry’s estranged brother, calling him *“a great young man.”* Meghan has previously criticized Trump as “divisive” and a “misogynist,” openly supporting Hillary Clinton in 2016.

In 2019, Trump told Piers Morgan he actually thought Meghan was *“very nice,”* clarifying his earlier comments. He claimed the media misrepresented his words, stating, *“I wasn’t referring to she’s nasty—I said she was nasty about me.”*

Harry and Meghan have faced recent backlash after sharing a video of Meghan dancing during her pregnancy. Critics and reality stars have slammed the couple over the footage.

Despite the controversy, Trump insists he holds no grudge, saying, *“She’s doing a good job, I hope she enjoys her life.”* The ongoing tensions highlight the polarizing views surrounding the couple and Trump’s policies.
