Donald Trump sparks another conspiracy theory about assassination attempt after internet sleuths spot major ‘clue’

Social media users are reigniting conspiracy theories about Donald Trump’s assassination attempt, questioning whether his ear injury was real. Online sleuths are comparing recent photos of Trump—where his ear appears healed—to images from the 2024 Pennsylvania rally shooting, where a bullet grazed him. Some claim the lack of visible cartilage damage “proves” the incident was staged.

One X user argued, “Ear cartilage generally does NOT regrow,” sharing before-and-after photos. Others called it “the biggest scam ever,” doubting the severity of Trump’s wound. The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed by Secret Service after firing an AR-15-style rifle, killing one attendee and injuring two.

Despite the speculation, medical experts and supporters pushed back. A user noted, “The bullet graze barely broke the skin,” while another pointed out Trump’s access to top-tier plastic surgeons. Former White House physician Ronny Jackson confirmed the injury required no sutures but involved significant bleeding and swelling.

Critics dismissed the conspiracy, with one anti-Trump user stating the FBI and medical professionals verified the injury. They explained the blood streaks on Trump’s face likely resulted from his head movement after being struck, not direct bullet contact.

Recent photos do show a slight gap in Trump’s ear helix, which some argue is evidence of healing. Others highlighted advancements in reconstructive surgery, including lab-grown cartilage, as plausible explanations for his recovery.

The debate reflects ongoing skepticism around high-profile events, with Trump’s detractors and defenders clashing over the authenticity of his injury. While conspiracy theories persist, medical and official accounts support the shooting’s legitimacy.

Trump himself has acknowledged lingering discomfort, telling reporters he occasionally feels a “throbbing” in his ear. Despite the online frenzy, no credible evidence has emerged to disprove the assassination attempt.
