Russia responds after Trump threatened to ‘bomb the s*** out of Moscow’ in leaked audio tapes
Donald Trump allegedly made a strong threat against Vladimir Putin, warning he would bomb Moscow if Russia invaded Ukraine. This claim, made in newly surfaced audio from a 2024 donor event, has sparked a sharp response from Russia.
According to CNN, Trump shared these remarks with wealthy donors before beginning his second term. In the recording, Trump claimed he warned Putin that he would “bomb the sh*t out of Moscow,” though Putin didn’t fully believe him at the time.
Trump also mentioned issuing a similar warning to Chinese President Xi Jinping, saying Beijing would face consequences if China invaded Taiwan. These claims come from tapes reportedly recorded during fundraisers in New York and Florida, featured in a new book titled 2024.
The Kremlin quickly dismissed these remarks, with spokesperson Dmitry Peskov denying any such phone calls occurred. He emphasized that the alleged statements happened during a time when Trump was not yet president.
Trump recently expressed frustration with Putin during a cabinet meeting on July 8. He criticized the Russian leader for the ongoing violence in Ukraine, claiming Putin’s friendliness was deceptive and unproductive.
Trump also suggested he might propose new sanctions on Russia and confirmed he had approved sending additional U.S. weapons to Ukraine to support their defense efforts.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed the support and emphasized the urgency of receiving aid quickly to protect the country. UNILAD has reached out to both the White House and the Kremlin for further comment.
