A honeymoon in the picturesque hills of Shillong, India, turned into a tragic tale of betrayal and murder. Businessman Raja Raghuvanshi arrived on May 20 with his new wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, hoping to celebrate their marriage. Instead, days later, his body was discovered in a remote canyon—stripped of his belongings, including his wedding ring, and left to decompose.
Police first suspected Raj Kushwaha, Sonam’s alleged lover, but the truth was far more sinister. Investigators uncovered that Sonam herself orchestrated the murder, manipulating Raj with fake promises of love. She enlisted three accomplices—Vishal Singh, Anand Kurmi, and Akash Rajput—offering them money to kill Raja.
Sonam meticulously tracked Raja’s movements, directing the killers to his location. Between May 23–24, Raja was likely ambushed and pushed into the gorge. His death was swift and brutal, leaving no trace of his identity behind.
After the murder, Raj returned to Indore, expecting to be with Sonam. Unbeknownst to him, she had already betrayed him again. Authorities revealed she was secretly involved with another man and had planned to eliminate Raj as well.
Sonam’s web of lies unraveled when phone records linked her to the crime. On June 8, she was arrested and later confessed to her role in the murder. Her cold-blooded scheme shocked investigators and exposed her as the mastermind.
