Unemployed Dad With Disturbing Face Tattoo Begs For Job On Facebook

During a two-year prison term in New Zealand, Mark Cropp made a life-altering mistake. While intoxicated on homemade alcohol, he and his brother decided to tattoo the word “Devast8” across his lower face.

They used melted plastic and toothpaste as ink for the impromptu tattoo. This impulsive decision would come to haunt him long after his release.

Once free, Cropp was determined to turn his life around and support his girlfriend and their young daughter. However, his drastic facial tattoo became an immediate and overwhelming barrier.

Prospective employers were instantly deterred by the prominent ink, leaving him stuck in a cycle of unemployment and deep regret. He acknowledged the tattoo reflected his history of devastating his own opportunities.

Unable to secure a job and lacking the funds for professional laser removal, Cropp felt hopeless. In a final plea, he turned to social media for help.

He posted a photo of himself on Facebook, honestly explaining his situation and asking for employment and a second chance. His heartfelt post quickly went viral, spreading across New Zealand and internationally.

His story reached Sacred Tattoo, a renowned Auckland studio. Moved by his plight, the artists generously offered to remove the tattoo for free, giving him the fresh start he desperately needed.
