FAKE CONFESSION: 71-YEAR-OLD MAN CLAIMS HE SHOT CHARLIE KIRK TO “DISTRACT POLICE”

A 71-year-old Utah man named George Zinn falsely confessed to the shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Authorities reported that Zinn approached officers and shouted, “I shot him, now shoot me,” though he was unarmed at the time.

Investigators quickly determined that Zinn’s claim was not credible. After further questioning, Zinn admitted that he had lied about his involvement in the crime.

According to officials, Zinn confessed with the intention to “distract from the real killer” and create disruption. He has been described as a longtime political provocateur.

As a result of his false statement, Zinn now faces criminal charges for obstruction of justice. The legal process against him is moving forward.

Meanwhile, law enforcement has identified the actual suspect as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. Robinson became the focus of a manhunt before being arrested.

Robinson was persuaded to turn himself in by his father. The arrest was supported by FBI DNA evidence collected near the crime scene.

Robinson is currently being held in jail under close observation. Authorities are awaiting the results of a mental health evaluation as his case proceeds.
