Joe Rogan Slams Donald Trump Administration Over ‘Scary’ Now-Deleted Video
Podcaster Joe Rogan has criticized the Trump administration’s Department of Homeland Security. The issue involves the unauthorized use of a video clip featuring fellow podcaster Theo Von.
The DHS used Von’s footage in a video promoting its immigration crackdown. This was done without seeking Von’s permission or notifying him beforehand.
Von discussed the incident on his own podcast, expressing that the situation made him feel “really scared.” He also mentioned receiving a significant amount of hateful messages as a result.
Rogan addressed the matter with Von during a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience. He sympathized with Von, calling the government’s action “crazy.”
Rogan was shocked that the authorities did not ask for permission. He noted that the original clip Von posted was from a casual, joking conversation about a year and a half ago.
The popular podcaster argued that if a private company had done the same thing, Von would have strong legal grounds to sue them for using his content.
Following the controversy, Von involved an attorney. The pressure ultimately led the Department of Homeland Security to take the video down.
