Donald Trump defends ‘big boy’ Clinton after Epstein photo release

In an unusual political defense, former President Donald Trump has spoken in support of Bill Clinton following the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. These files, numbering around 300,000, include photographs of Clinton with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Trump expressed disapproval at the publication of such images during a recent press conference. He stated, “I don’t like the pictures of Bill Clinton being shown,” arguing it was unfair to those who innocently met Epstein years ago.

The former president noted his personal rapport with Clinton, saying, “I like Bill Clinton, I’ve always gotten along with Bill Clinton.” He emphasized his respect for his political predecessor despite their differing affiliations.

This supportive stance marked a rare moment of courtesy across party lines for Trump. However, he quickly pivoted to criticize the document release as a political tactic to deflect from Republican successes.

Trump alleged the ongoing Epstein case narrative is an intentional distraction. He suggested the matter should be concluded and that its continuation has angered many people.

The document release was mandated by the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which Trump signed into law. A spokesperson for Clinton criticized the Department of Justice for not meeting the full release deadline, implying possible protection of undisclosed parties.

The spokesperson asserted that Clinton requires no such protection, questioning whom or what the delayed and partial release might be shielding. The files aim to provide insight into Epstein’s network, though mere appearance does not indicate wrongdoing.
