Secret Service agent caught sharing ‘sensitive details’ about JD Vance on fake date sparking major agency shake up
A U.S. Secret Service agent has been placed on administrative leave for allegedly disclosing sensitive information about Vice President JD Vance. The incident occurred during an undercover sting by a journalist posing as a date.
According to a video published by the O’Keefe Media Group, the agent met with the journalist at a restaurant. During their conversation, he reportedly revealed confidential details about Secret Service operations.
The information disclosed allegedly included shift schedules and specific protective tactics used when Vance is in public. The agent also provided his identification badge to verify his role.
In subsequent messages, the agent reportedly shared Vance’s travel arrangements, images of the presidential convoy, and metadata that could potentially pinpoint the Vice President’s location.
The video also captured the agent expressing his personal political views. He stated he voted for Joe Biden in 2020 and criticized both ICE agents’ tactics and the Trump administration’s immigration policies.
Following the video’s release, the Secret Service confirmed the employee is on administrative leave with his security clearance suspended. Deputy Director Matthew Quinn stated the agency has “no tolerance” for such conduct.
The Secret Service has mandated all personnel retake anti-espionage training and issued a formal apology to the Vance family for this breach of trust and privacy. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
