CHICAGO ROCKED BY HOLIDAY BLOODSHED

More than 50 people were shot in Chicago during the Labor Day weekend, with seven of those victims losing their lives, according to police reports.

Authorities said the shootings occurred in separate incidents across the city, and only a small number of arrests have been made so far.

Among those killed were two women and three men, while the identities of two additional victims have not yet been confirmed.

In response to ongoing tensions with the federal government, Mayor Brandon Johnson issued an executive order preventing Chicago police from cooperating with federal law enforcement.

The move directly challenges President Trump’s call to deploy federal troops or agents to address violent crime in the city.

Mayor Johnson stated that he would challenge any federal intervention in court, arguing that such actions would violate local authority.

Meanwhile, the White House criticized Democratic leaders, accusing them of turning crime into a political issue rather than taking effective steps to reduce violence, as Chicago has recorded 272 homicides so far this year.
