Danny Trejo needs your prayers.
Actor Danny Trejo, known for his role in Breaking Bad, recently revealed his battle with liver cancer, overcoming a 10 cm tumor through unique treatments. In an interview, he shared the difficulty of keeping it a secret due to concerns about his acting contract and potential termination if word got out. Trejo, now promoting his product “Giddy,” a wearable Viagra, confessed he fears medications after his cancer experience.
“I’m afraid to death of taking too many medications; I actually overcame liver cancer, so I don’t want to start putting anything in there,” Trejo said. The actor underwent injections directly into the tumor, a treatment preventing chemotherapy due to the tumor’s size. His secrecy stemmed from financial concerns and potential impact on his acting career.
Trejo’s survival was confirmed after approximately six months, but the actor had to endure the struggle alone, as revealing his condition could jeopardize his career. Throughout the process, he maintained his weight to conceal any signs of illness, as unintended weight loss is a significant indicator of liver cancer. With 6,200 new cases of liver cancer annually in the UK, Trejo’s story sheds light on the challenges faced by those battling the disease, emphasizing the importance of resilience and discretion in the public eye.
