Despite their complicated marriage and “horrible” divorce, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz’s daughter, Lucie, is happily married. Lucie shared on Instagram, “43 years ago this morning I woke up on an apple farm in Kingston.”
Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz portrayed a perfect couple on “I Love Lucy,” but their real-life relationship was volatile. They eloped in 1940 after a whirlwind romance and had two children, Lucie and Desi Arnaz Jr. Lucie revealed, “They were fighting all the time when we were growing up. There was a lot of anger and screaming.” Their tumultuous marriage ended in 1961.
Lucie followed her parents into entertainment, featuring on her mother’s shows from a young age. In her twenties, she married Philip Vandervort Menegaux, but they divorced after five years. She later found lasting love with actor Laurence Luckinbill, celebrating 43 years of marriage in June 2023. Lucie reminisced, “I vowed to love Laurence Luckinbill till death us do part. 15,695 days, 5 kids, and three grandchildren later, I am proud to still say, ‘I do.’”
