Pirates of the Caribbean Actor Tamayo Perry Dies in Shark Attack
Tamayo Perry, an actor known for his role in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, died after a shark attack off the coast of Oahu, Hawaii, on Sunday. According to the Daily Caller, first responders in Honolulu rushed to assist Perry, 49, after he was rescued from the ocean. Paramedics used jet skis to bring him to shore, where he was pronounced dead by Honolulu Medical Services.
In a statement, an official said, “As you can imagine, this is a very hard time for all of us. I ask for your kindness and your patience as we all try to get through this next hour and into the weeks and months to come.” Perry had been working as a lifeguard and was well-known as a professional surfer.
Kurt Lager, acting Chief of the Ocean Safety Department, praised Perry, saying, “Tamayo’s vibrant personality was truly contagious, and while he was adored by many, his love for others was even greater.” He extended condolences to Perry’s family and requested privacy for them during this difficult time.
