They told my wife: “You Are Not Pretty Enough to Work Here” I had to do something about it
My wife Emma wanted a job in retail, thinking it would suit her well. One day, she saw a famous lingerie shop was hiring and eagerly went inside. The sales assistant ignored her until she was in her face, then sneered, “I don’t think you’re pretty enough for this job. NO CHANCE. Don’t even try.” Emma came home in tears, devastated. Furious, I decided to teach the assistant a lesson.
I visited the store, pretending to be a wealthy customer. The assistant, Sophia, was all smiles and eager to help. After browsing for a while, I casually mentioned, “My wife was here the other day looking for a job.” Sophia’s face changed. I continued, “She was told she wasn’t ‘pretty enough’.” Sophia stammered, “We have very high standards.”
I asked for the manager, Lisa, and recounted the story. Lisa apologized and called Sophia to her office. Later, Lisa invited Emma to reapply. Emma got the job and thrived, while Sophia was transferred. Justice was served, and Emma never felt unworthy again.
