14-Year-Old Missing from European Cruise Found Safe
A 14-year-old American boy, Aydin Brown, went missing while on a European cruise with his grandmother. He disappeared during a stop in Germany but was eventually found safe.
Aydin Brown was on a 12-day Caribbean Princess cruise with his grandmother, starting on June 30 in Southampton, England. The cruise included stops in cities like Copenhagen and Stockholm. On July 4th, Aydin was last seen leaving the ship in Rostock-Warnemünde, Germany. Surveillance footage showed him with an unidentified male, heading towards Warnemünde church square.
Aydin’s grandmother stayed behind when the ship left, and his mother traveled to Germany to help find him. Aydin was located about 120 miles from the harbor on Saturday night. He intended to meet a 19-year-old, but police found no “evidence of a criminal offense.” He has since been reunited with his family. Princess Cruises expressed their relief: “We are delighted that Aydin Brown has been found safe and sound.”
While Aydin’s story ended happily, it highlights the potential risks of travel. “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to German authorities for their swift response and exceptional efforts in locating Aydin,” Princess Cruises stated. The incident serves as a reminder to always travel safely.
