My Boss Tricked Me Out of $400 and Paid the Price
A contractor, Jackson, was tricked out of $400 by his boss, Steve, after being asked to buy food for the staff. Steve told Jackson, “You should have gotten it in writing,” when he tried to get reimbursed. Jackson had been running food errands on Steve’s instructions, thinking everything was covered. However, when the reimbursement was denied, Jackson was stunned by Steve’s attitude and refusal to honor their verbal agreement.
Months later, Steve contacted Jackson again, urgently needing him for a big project. Steve begged Jackson to join, offering good money and making it sound like a huge opportunity. Jackson initially played along, pretending to agree to the project.
When Steve called to finalize details, Jackson gave him a taste of his own medicine, saying, “You should have gotten it in writing.” Steve was left shocked and furious as Jackson refused to work on the project. Jackson walked away, satisfied that he had finally settled the score with his deceptive boss.
