Four Dead, Including a Child, after Helicopter Crashes into Radio Tower in Houston – Video
A tragic helicopter crash in Houston, Texas, claimed the lives of four people, including a child, on October 20, 2024. The helicopter collided with a radio tower in the city’s Second Ward, East End, leading to an explosion that brought the tower down. Footage from a local security camera captured the moment of the crash, showing the helicopter hitting the tower, which was only partially illuminated.
Authorities, including Houston Mayor John Whitmire and Police Chief Noe Diaz, confirmed that first responders acted swiftly, ensuring the safety of local residents. Although no one on the ground was harmed, the crash caused a grass fire that has since been contained. Investigations revealed the tower’s lights were “unserviceable” prior to the crash, raising concerns about safety measures.
