Country singer Toby Keith returned to the stage over the holiday weekend for his first performances since announcing his stomach cancer diagnosis in June 2022. The 61-year-old surprised fans with two pop-up concerts on June 30 and July 1 at his Oklahoma bar, Hollywood Corners, where he performed two 2.5-hour sets filled with fan-favorite songs and his classic “Bus Songs.”
Following his diagnosis last fall, Keith has undergone chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery. Recently, he shared that he’s “feeling pretty good” and hopes to go on tour by the end of the year if his strength holds up. Keith said his bloodwork shows improvement, and his tumor has shrunk by about a third. With support from a dietitian and immunotherapy, he’s testing his stamina for potential future performances.
