JUST IN: GOP Holds Onto Critical

Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, 69, has narrowly secured re-election in Iowa’s pivotal district, with 50.1% of the vote, edging out Democratic challenger Christina Bohannan, who received 49.9%. Miller-Meeks won by just 795 votes, 206,669 to Bohannan’s 205,874, a tight margin highlighting the competitiveness of the race.

This victory strengthens the GOP’s path toward reclaiming a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. Miller-Meeks, known for her healthcare reform stance, has held this swing district since 2020. Her win is a key gain for Republicans in their battle for House control.
