Democratic Lawmakers Wore Pink
Democratic lawmakers made a bold statement by wearing pink to Donald Trump’s first joint session of Congress on March 4. The Democratic Women’s Caucus, composed of female House representatives, chose pink as a symbol of protest against Trump’s policies impacting women and families.

Fernández criticized Trump’s speech, calling his policies a “nightmare” for American women. The protest also saw lawmaker Al Green being escorted out after interrupting Trump to oppose cuts to Medicaid. The pink attire served as a visual reminder of the caucus’s commitment to fighting for women’s rights and challenging policies they believe harm families across the nation.
