Russia issues ‘Pandora’s box’ warning to US over potential assassination of Iranian leader
Russia has warned the U.S. against assassinating Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, calling it a potential “Pandora’s box” that could trigger global escalation. His comments came after Donald Trump hinted at possible U.S. strikes on Iran, stating, “Nobody knows what I’m gonna do.”
Peskov emphasized that regime change in Tehran is “unimaginable” and warned of dangerous consequences. Meanwhile, Israel and Iran continue exchanging missile attacks, with strikes hitting near an Israeli hospital and military sites. Russia, which has a strategic partnership with Iran, also dismissed ceasefire talks in Ukraine, vowing to maintain its military advance.
