FBI gives final say on how Jeffrey Epstein really died and addresses conspiracy theories
The FBI and DOJ have released new details on Jeffrey Epstein’s death, dismissing conspiracy theories that he was murdered. In a memo obtained by Axios, authorities confirmed they found no evidence of foul play, asserting Epstein died by suicide. They also disclosed footage supporting the medical examiner’s conclusion.
The memo addressed widespread speculation about Epstein’s alleged “client list,” used to blackmail powerful figures. Investigators stated they uncovered no such list or proof of blackmail. They also found no grounds to pursue charges against unnamed individuals linked to Epstein.
The review revealed extensive evidence of Epstein’s crimes, including details about thousands of victims. However, officials emphasized that no incriminating records implicated high-profile associates in illegal activities.
Surveillance footage from Epstein’s prison cell the night of his death showed no signs of interference. The video, recorded between 10:40 p.m. on August 9, 2019, and 6:30 a.m. the next day, supported the suicide ruling.
A prior Justice Department report highlighted prison staff failures, including missed cell checks and inadequate monitoring. Epstein was left alone despite being on suicide watch, contributing to his death.
The DOJ stated it would not release further Epstein-related records, citing the need to protect victims and avoid fueling baseless theories. They emphasized prioritizing justice for survivors of exploitation over unverified claims.
