Farewell Richard Gere

Hollywood star Richard Gere has sold his luxurious Connecticut estate for nearly $11 million, reports PEOPLE. The 75-year-old actor, long celebrated as one of the world’s sexiest men, is now preparing to relocate to Spain with his family.

Gere purchased the New Canaan property in 2022 for $10.8 million—just slightly more than his sale price. The home was previously owned by music legends Paul Simon and Edie Brickell, who sold it at a loss after buying it for $16.5 million.

The 1938-built estate spans 32 acres and includes six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a swimming pool, lush gardens, and a guest cottage. Gere and his wife, Spanish publicist Alejandra Silva, 41, lived there for two years and even considered transforming it into a farm.

Now, the couple is ready for a new chapter in Spain. Married since 2018, Gere expressed his desire to be closer to Silva’s family and roots. “It would be nice for my wife to be with her friends, family, and native culture,” he told *Vanity Fair Spain*.

Gere described the move to Madrid as a “great adventure” for their blended family. The couple shares two young sons, Alexander (5) and James (4), while Gere also has an adult son, Homer (24), from a previous marriage. Silva has an 11-year-old son, Albert, from her past relationship.

This marks Gere’s third marriage and a fresh start overseas. The sale of his Connecticut home signals the beginning of this exciting transition.

Fans can expect to see more of Gere in Europe as he embraces Spanish life with his loved ones. The actor’s next adventure promises to be as captivating as his legendary career.
