US Olympic Great Sells Medals And Home To Begin New Life Overseas
Considered one of the greatest divers in history, Olympic champion Greg Louganis has made a significant life change. The 65-year-old recently decided to auction three of his five Olympic medals.
Louganis explained on Facebook that he needed the money and that this sale was against the advice of experts. The auction of two gold medals and one silver medal proved successful, earning him over $437,000.
In addition to selling his medals, Louganis also sold his California home. He expressed satisfaction with the sale and the person to whom he sold the property.
His reason for these major sales is a planned move to Panama. He was inspired by friends who lost everything in wildfires, demonstrating resilience that motivated him to start anew.
Louganis sees this move as an opportunity to discover who he is away from external distractions. His goal is to live a more authentic and examined life.
He aims to fully embrace all human experiences, from joy and laughter to grief and anger. He wants to nurture his spirit through this new chapter.
Louganis concluded his announcement by stating he would be checking in from Panama, marking the beginning of his fresh start in a new country.
