Jane Fonda, a close friend of Jennifer Lopez, has voiced concerns about Lopez’s rekindled romance with Ben Affleck. Despite public enthusiasm for their reunion, Fonda isn’t holding back on her thoughts.
The friendship between Fonda and Lopez deepened after they starred together in “Monster-in-Law” in 2005. In Lopez’s upcoming documentary, “This Is Me Now: A Love Story,” Fonda expresses two worries to the couple.
“I want you to know that I don’t entirely know why, but I feel invested in you and Ben, and I really want this to work,” Fonda tells Lopez, as reported by Variety. Fonda feels the relationship seems more about proving something than genuine enjoyment, especially evident in public displays of affection.
Fonda admits being “real scared” after seeing Affleck at the 2023 Grammys, expressing concern over his demeanor. Lopez reassures her, explaining Affleck’s appearance was misinterpreted as he was portraying a “beleaguered man.”
Despite her worries, Fonda believes in their love but advises discretion in how they portray it publicly to avoid unnecessary criticism or resentment.
