People left seriously ‘creeped’ out as White House showcase holiday greeting message calling Trump ‘daddy’
A holiday social media post from the White House has sparked widespread discomfort by referring to President Donald Trump as “daddy.” The festive graphic, posted on Instagram, depicted Trump in a Santa hat with the phrase “Daddy’s home” in bold lettering.
The term “daddy” carries well-known sexual and BDSM connotations, often implying a dominant role. This context led many to find the official post inappropriate and disturbing.
The reaction online was swift and critical. Commenters flooded the post with sick-face emojis, calling it “cringe” and the “creepiest message ever.” Many expressed shock that an official government account would use such language.
This incident coincided with another controversial holiday message from a Trump official. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth shared an AI-generated image of the children’s character Franklin the Turtle depicted violently, which was also widely condemned.
The character’s publisher, Kids Can Press, issued a statement condemning the violent use of Franklin’s image, stating it contradicts the values of kindness and empathy the character represents.
Meanwhile, First Lady Melania Trump unveiled the White House’s extensive holiday decorations, featuring over 50 Christmas trees. The theme was “home is where the heart is.”
Collectively, these official festive communications have drawn significant criticism for their tone and content, diverging sharply from traditional presidential holiday messaging.
