Final Words Of Renee Good Revealed In New Footage

A video recorded by a U.S. immigration officer has intensified scrutiny of the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis. The footage appears to show the 37-year-old seated calmly in her SUV moments before an ICE officer, Jonathan Ross, opened fire.

The clip, later released by the Department of Homeland Security, shows Ross circling Good’s vehicle. Good is heard speaking calmly, while her wife, Becca Good, records and states they are U.S. citizens. As the SUV begins to move forward, Ross shouts before gunshots are heard.

The video has sparked dispute over the shooting’s justification. Trump administration officials, including Vice President JD Vance, have defended the officer, claiming self-defense and calling Good’s actions “domestic terrorism.” Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has vehemently rejected this characterization.

Other videos reportedly show Good steering away from Ross as he fires. It remains unclear if the vehicle made contact with the officer before he shot. Reuters notes the final shots appear aimed through the driver’s window after the car passed him.

The shooting has triggered protests and demands for transparency in Minneapolis, a city still marked by the killing of George Floyd. The FBI-led investigation has drawn criticism for excluding local authorities.

Becca Good described her wife as a compassionate mother of three, stating they had stopped to support neighbors. She contrasted their peaceful intent with the officer’s force, noting, “We had whistles. They had guns.”

The case has become a national flashpoint over policing and immigration enforcement. The central question is whether the officer’s use of lethal force was justified in the rapid escalation, a determination that will hinge on the evidence from these conflicting videos.
