World famous actor passed away after suffering a “massive heart attack”
Mark Dodson, known for his roles in Star Wars and Gremlins, has passed away. He died at a fan convention in Evansville, Indiana, reportedly from a “massive heart attack” while sleeping at his hotel. His daughter, Ciara, confirmed the news, stating her father “always made me proud.” Mark was at the convention for Evansville Horror Con 2024 and had planned photo ops, autograph sessions, and a panel appearance.
Evansville Horror Con shared their grief on Facebook: “Mark was not only a talented voice actor but also a cherished member of the horror community. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and fans.”
Mark began voice work as a child and was best known for voicing Salacious Crumb in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and characters in the Gremlins series. His unique voice added depth to every character he portrayed. Recently, he voiced Adam Hamada in the game Ghostrunner II.
Reflecting on his contributions, Evansville Horror Con urged fans to remember the joy and laughter Mark brought into the world, stating, “His legacy will live on through his work.”
