Woman snaps photo running through rainforest – later spots haunting detail in the bushes
There’ve been countless ‘spooky’ images shared online, from Big Foot sightings to supposed flying saucers and ghosts. Most are easily explainable as camera blurs or Photoshop, but some photos do seem to defy logic.
One such example is from runner Kay Borleis during a 100-mile run in the Hawaiian rainforest. In 2019, Kay participated in the Hawaiian Ultra Running Team’s Trail 100-Mile Endurance Run. Her friend Cassie, acting as a pacer, took photos during their run.
One image showed Kay on a muddy trail, but a closer look revealed an unsettling detail. Kay posted on Reddit: “Notice the figure in the frame to the left of my head. We never saw anyone passing us and there were no statues along the trail. It is NOT photoshopped or made. This is legit.”
Close-ups of the photo appear to show a dark figure in ragged clothing watching Kay. According to Hawaiian legend, these figures could be Night Marchers, ghosts of ancient warriors. Legend has it that mortals who see or defy these marchers will die horribly unless they lie prostrate in respect.
Thankfully, Kay and Cassie did not encounter the Night Marchers directly.
