Beloved actor dies at 37 after being shot in Los Angeles
Tributes Pour In for ‘General Hospital’ Star Johnny Wactor
General Hospital actor Johnny Wactor, 37, was tragically shot and killed in Los Angeles on Saturday while protecting a coworker from thieves attempting to steal his catalytic converter. Wactor, known for his role as Brando Corbin, confronted three masked men near his car, unaware of the danger until it was too late.
Fellow actors mourned his loss, with William deVry calling the death “senseless” and Parry Shen praising Wactor’s “beautiful soul.” Sofia Mattsson, who played his on-screen wife, described him as “honest, caring, and humble,” adding that he brought “happiness and kindness to everyone.”
Wactor’s family is devastated, with his brother Grant saying, “My mother is tough as nails, but she’s broken to the bone.” The LAPD is investigating the incident.
