Elise Finch, a New York-based meteorologist for CBS News, passed away at 51. CBS announced the sad news, with the team expressing, “It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the death of our beloved Elise Dione Finch Henriques.”

Finch had been a dedicated member of WCBS for 16 years, most recently appearing on the morning news with Chris Wragge and Mary Calvi. Joining the team in 2007 as a weekend meteorologist, she was known for her hard work and earned an Emmy for her weather coverage.

Finch held a Master of Science in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University. The cause of her death has not been disclosed, but it followed treatment for an unnamed illness. Finch is survived by her husband and young daughter, leaving a profound impact on all who knew her.
