More than 20 years after the tragic events of September 11, 2001, a man named Kei Sugimoto has released never-before-seen footage of the Twin Towers falling. Sugimoto recently discovered the footage while cleaning out his closet. He had filmed it on a Sony VX2000 camera from the roof of a building at 64 St. Marks Place in New York City. The angle, capturing the towers from the north, offers a view not commonly seen in other recordings.
The video, which was shared on July 23, 2023, has since gone viral, sparking conversations across social media. “It’s crazy that we’re almost 23 years out and still getting new footage,” commented one Reddit user.
