TJX Stores Introduce Body Cameras for Employee Safety

Employees at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods may now wear body cameras to enhance safety for customers and staff. Parent company TJX Companies implemented this measure to deter crime, de-escalate incidents, and reinforce a secure shopping environment.

A spokesperson explained that only trained employees will use the cameras, and footage will be shared solely with law enforcement or via subpoena. Retail consultant Carol Spieckerman highlighted the challenge of monitoring TJX’s “treasure-hunt” inventory model, which attracts frequent shoppers.

This initiative reflects TJX’s commitment to safety through policies, training, and innovative measures.
