Staggering new Trump approval ratings show what the US really thinks of him with shock results from one state

Recent polls show Donald Trump’s approval ratings have declined since April, with two separate surveys revealing growing public dissatisfaction. An Emerson College poll found 45% of voters approve of Trump’s presidency, while 46% disapprove – marking a drop from his 49% approval in January.

The Texas Politics Project Poll painted a bleaker picture, showing only 44% approval versus 51% disapproval. This shift is notable as Texas has traditionally been a Republican stronghold. Economic concerns appear to be driving the decline, with 51% disapproving of Trump’s economic performance.

Both polls were conducted before Trump’s recent involvement in brokering an Iran-Israel ceasefire. Earlier, tensions escalated when Trump ordered strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, prompting Iranian retaliation against U.S. bases in Qatar and Iraq.

At a NATO summit, Trump downplayed the attacks, claiming Iran gave warning and that U.S. defenses successfully intercepted all missiles. “It’s like shooting a bullet with a bullet,” he remarked about the missile defense system’s performance.

The polls suggest growing concerns about domestic issues, with 53% of respondents believing the country is “on the wrong track.” Inflation appears particularly damaging, drawing disapproval from 52% of those surveyed in Texas.

While Trump maintains strong Republican support (87% approval in Texas), this represents a slight dip from 89% in April. Political analysts note independent voters could prove decisive in upcoming elections, with 36% currently undecided.

These shifting numbers come amid controversial policies including immigration crackdowns and the “Big Beautiful Bill” legislation. As midterm elections approach, the data suggests Trump faces challenges in maintaining his political base while appealing to undecided voters.
