Rita Ora became emotional during a performance in Osaka, Japan, just hours after Liam Payne’s death was confirmed. Payne, 31, tragically fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Ora was performing their duet “For You,” recorded in 2018, when she broke down. An image of the two was projected behind her as she struggled to continue singing, saying, “I can’t even sing this right now.” Later, Ora posted on Instagram, calling Payne the “kindest soul” and reminiscing about their time together.
Payne’s death was caused by severe injuries from the fall. Ora dedicated the song to his memory, writing, “Our song For You takes on a whole new meaning for me now. R.I.P.”
