In Baltimore, the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed into the Patapsco River after being struck by a cargo ship, marking a ‘mass casualty event’. Emergency services estimate up to 20 people may be in the water, prompting a significant rescue operation. Kevin Cartwright from the Baltimore Fire Department stated, “Our focus right now is trying to rescue and recover these people.”
